Moldova Guides is an independent visitor reference covering tours, wine, and food across all six regions of Moldova. No affiliate links, no commissioned stays, no operator partnerships — the editorial line is the product.

Who this is for
People planning a trip to Moldova who want to do their reading once. The guide is built around what a standard visitor actually needs to decide: which region matches the trip you want, what each sight costs and how to get there, where to eat and stay, what the dress code is at the monastery, and which marshrutka leaves from which station. The voice is direct and the recommendations are opinionated — if a winery requires phone-booking via WhatsApp, that's what we say.
Editorial principles
No affiliate links, no commissioned content. External links go where they should go — usually the operator's own site — without referral tracking. Hotels and wineries don't get sponsored placement.
No comp stays, no operator hosting. We pay for the meals and the rooms we eventually feature. If we couldn't try something firsthand, we say so.
Domain-aware fact-checking. Practical / operational claims (hours, prices, booking, transport, accommodation) are sourced from the operator first, then the official tourism board, then Wikipedia, then a recent travel blog. Cultural and historical claims invert that — Wikipedia + academic sources first, operator + tourism board second.
Source log. Every URL we cite gets a sequential [s##] ID in our credits + sources log so it's reproducible. When two sources conflict, we apply the priority above and flag the disagreement.
Annual review. Hours, prices, transport fares and festival dates drift. The whole site gets an annual review, and individual pages carry a "last reviewed" date so you know what's current.
How we verify
Operator websites are the first stop for anything operational. Where the operator page is sparse or out of date (still common in 2026), we cross-check with the Moldovan Tourism Board (moldova.travel), the relevant city hall, the Calea Ferată din Moldova schedule pages, and recent firsthand reports. Where a 2026-specific fact can't be confirmed, we say so on the page rather than guess — the goal is honest gaps, not false certainty.
Corrections + contact
We want corrections. If a price moved, a marshrutka changed stations, a winery rebranded, or a festival date drifted — email us and the page will be updated with attribution if you'd like.
